- What soap is
- Different methods of making soap
- How to formulate your own recipe from scratch
- Equipment, supplies and ingredients needed
- Different soapmaking oils
You will make your own soap after I have demonstrated the soapmaking method. The soap you make, +- 1300g (1,3kg / 12 - 13 bars of soap), is for you to take home.
The hands on class is 4 - 5 hours long, facilitated at our studio in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.
I am a proudly self-taught formulator, with 13 years of experience in the craft, science and art of soapmaking.
You will received class material - including Soapmaking Instruction, Soapmaking Recipes and Essential oil blending booklets.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED:
A box mold will be provided for you. If you prefer to use a re-usable/permanent soap mold, you will be able to buy one of our silicone molds or bring one loaf mold of your own.
You will need to bring a towel in which you can wrap your soap, and a big enough box to fit your mold in transit.
We provide a lunch and light morning snacks.
Please note we do not teach essential oil blending in this class.
All materials used will be provided, and you will be able to choose essential oils and colourants to customise your handmade cold-processed soap.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a hands on cold-processed soap making class, teaching you to make soap from scratch. This is not a melt & pour class.
