Argan Oil

ARGAN OIL – VIRGIN: 

Argan oil is a treasure for all skin and hair care recipes due to its moisturizing and nourishing properties. It is extremely hydrating for dry skin and softens hair while protecting it against stripping shampoos. 

This product is sourced exclusively from Morocco and is often referred to as "Liquid gold". 

The usage rate of argan oil can vary depending on the specific recipe or application. If used neat, we recommend starting with a small amount and adjusting as needed based on your skin or hair's response. Here is a general breakdown of how its typically used: 

Skincare Formulations: Suitable for all skin types 

• Moisturizers, Lotions, Serums: 1% to 5%. It provides hydration and is rich in antioxidants, making it ideal for anti-aging or hydrating products. 

• Face Oils: 10% to 100% 

• Balms and Creams: 2% to 10% 

Hair Care Formulations: Suitable for all hair types 

• Shampoos and Conditioners: 1% to 3%. It provides nourishment and reduces frizz without leaving hair greasy.  

• Leave-in Conditioners, Hair Masks: 2% to 5% 

• Hair Serums and Oils: 5% to 10%  

Usage rate for Argan oil in cold process soap is generally 5% to 10% of the total oils. Some formulations may use up to 15% but going beyond this will affect hardness and lather of the soap. Since Argan oil is high in unsaturated fats, it needs to be balanced with harder oils such as coconut, palm or olive oil to ensure the soap has good structure and lather. 

Storage Instructions: 

1. Keep in a cool, dark place: Ideal storage temperatures are around 10 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees Celsius.

1. Refrigeration (optional): Although not necessary, argan oil can be stored in the fridge to prolong shelf life especially if you live in a warm climate. Note that the oil may thicken or become cloudy but will return to its normal consistency at room temperature.
